Clare has delivered a number of craft sessions to our WI over the past few years and they have all
been of the highest quality. The techniques she uses are such that they are accessible to even the
least dexterous of us. She is always well prepared and manages the time well so that those who are quicker can
move on without getting bored whilst the slower ones of us (like me) are not put under pressure.
Whilst some of us are happy to follow Claire’s suggestions to the letter the activities she presents do
allow for the more creative members to add their own stamp of individuality. Delivering sessions of
this quality during normal times is to be applauded but she has managed to continue to do this
online during the restrictions of the past year.

Clare worked with Inspire: Culture Learning and Libraries on our Heritage Lottery Funded project, Home Cooked Heritage as lead artist. Working with a storyteller and an archaeologist she delved into Nottinghamshire Archives and creatively engaged both adults and children to explore food history. Clare truly brought the food stories to life developing visual art workshops suitable for all ages that led to a touring exhibition featuring 120 art works printed on tea towels and a printed book celebrating the work and the historic inspiration. A pleasure to work with such a creative and conscientious artist, and to see the work of all participants be nurtured into such a fabulous outcome.

Helen Ackroyd, Libraries and Culture Manager, Inspire: Culture, Learning and Libraries

Clare took what was a ‘perhaps something like this and that,’ sketchy idea and coloured it in with sheer artistic genius. Her work is beautifully intricate, woven together with great care and creative talent. She can take any idea and make it an actual thing of beauty. She really listens to the brief and offers lots of possibilities, is happy to try out something new but brings great experience of materials and techniques to the table.

Jayne Williams – Participation Director, New Perspectives Theatre Company

Throughout the ‘Mills, Machines and Memories’ project, Clare has been a delight to work with. Her creativity and enthusiasm are inspiring and she has devised and delivered a truly unique project for us that involved dozens of local people, from those at school to care home residents. She is easy to collaborate with, open to discussions and ideas and especially brilliant at communicating during public workshops. She is professional and personable and an asset to any team. I would highly recommend Clare for any project requiring creativity and initiative.

Sally Evans – Community Participation Officer, Mansfield Museum

Clare Taylor is a proactive artist who is always looking for opportunities to engage children and their families in high quality art projects. She came into our school to deliver a family clay based workshop as part of a Mansfield Museum project. She was organised and well prepared, as well as making an immediate connection with all the participants. I would not hesitate to work with Clare again or to recommend her to other schools.
